AstroKarma Private Limited (referred to as “AstroKarma”, “We,”“Our,” or “Us”) is the owner and operator of the mobile application named “AstroKarma” (the “Application” or “App”), and the website available at https://astrokarma.app/ collectively referred to as the“Platform” for the purposes of this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is issued in compliance with Applicable Laws (as defined below), which mandates the publication of a privacy policy for the collection, use, storage, processing, and transfer of Personal Data.
Definitions and Interpretation
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
- “User”, “you” & “your” means any natural or legal person who accesses or uses the Platform.
- “Personal Data” means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual, who is identifiable by or in relation to such information.
- “Processing” in relation to Personal Data, means a wholly or partly automated operation or set of operations performed on Personal Data, and includes operations such as but not limited to collection, storage, use, disclosure, transfer, and deletion.
- “Third-Party” means any person or entity other than AstroKarma and the User.
- “Services" means the services offered by AstroKarma through the Platform, including but not limited to astrological consultations, numerology, kundli-matching, wellness offerings, counselling, and any other similar or related services, including corporate activities that may be introduced in the future; and
- “Applicable Laws” means all applicable data protection and privacy laws, rules, and regulations in force in the relevant jurisdiction governing the Processing of Personal Data, including, where applicable, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 of India, as may be amended from time to time.
This Privacy Policy governs how the Platform collects, uses, stores, discloses and Processes the Personal Data of its Users. It also outlines the privacy practices adopted by AstroKarma, the rights available to Users in relation to their Personal Data, and the choices Users may exercise regarding such information.
In the event that any information provided or uploaded by you violates the provisions of this Privacy Policy or the Terms and Conditions, AstroKarma reserves the right to remove such information and restrict or revoke your access to the Platform without incurring any liability.
Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning ascribed to them in the Terms and Conditions and in case of any inconsistency found between the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, the terms in this Privacy Policy shall prevail.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the Platform or any of the Services provided on the Platform. The provisions contained in this Privacy Policy supersede all previous notices and statements regarding our privacy practices with respect to the Services. Collection, Purpose and Use of Personal Data
To provide its Services, AstroKarma collects and uses the following categories of Personal Data for the purposes outlined in Table 1 below:

We also collect information from content You post in online reviews, comments, forums, or blogs on our Platforms.
Other uses of Personal Data
The Personal Data collected shall also be used for the following purposes, as permitted under Applicable Law:
- a) To offer a personalized experience for the User.
- b) To conduct research and enhance marketing and promotional efforts. This enables us to understand general customer trends and patterns so we can develop and support existing and ongoing marketing strategies for our products and Services and conduct other marketing and commercial activities.
- c) To improve the content, functionality, and layout of the Platform. We will share your Personal Data with third parties such as Meta, TikTok, Google, Snapchat, OTP Less, and similar third parties. As a result of sharing such Personal Data with these third parties we (1) analyse different interactions (e.g. how often users visit our ads or Platform); (2) serve advertising (and show them only to a particular group of Users).
- d) To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, misuse, or violations of the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
- e) To contact You by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, such as a mobile application’s push notifications regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities, Platform or Services, including the security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation.
- f) To gather statistical data, including User demographics, trends, and usage metrics.
- g) To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, government or regulatory inquiries, or protect the rights, property, or safety of the Platform, Users, or the public.
- h) To facilitate payments using our third-party payment providers, billing, refunds, and to prevent unauthorised transactions, where applicable. These third-party payment providers do not share your financial information, like credit card number, with us, but may share limited information with us related to your purchase, like success or failure of a transaction.
- i) To enforce Platform policies, including Terms and Conditions and standard contracts.
User Account
a) Account usage - Users are advised to exercise caution when sharing Personal Data, particularly login credentials, with any person or Third Party. AstroKarma shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or unauthorized access resulting from the User’s voluntary disclosure or sharing of Personal Data with any Third Party.
b) Content - Users are responsible for all the content (including any Personal Data) they share over the Platform while availing any Services. AstroKarma will not be responsible for any content shared over the Platform.
c) Service: The use of our Services is not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or treatment of any disease or health condition. Before making any decision or taking any action that may affect your health or safety, the health or safety of your family, please consult with a licensed physician or other qualified health care provider. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it. Always consult with a health care professional if you have questions or concerns about your health or condition, or if your health or condition has changed. Your use of our Services and any information, predictions, or suggestions provided while using the Services are at your sole risk. We make no representation or warranty of any kind as to the accuracy of data, information, estimates, and predictions that the Consultants may provide to you through the Platform and you agree and understand that the Platform is not intended to match or serve the same purpose as a professional medical, legal, or scientific device or healthcare provider.
d) Account Deletion - If you wish to delete your entire account created on our Platform, you may do so by selecting the “Delete your account” option. To initiate this process, navigate to the “Profile” section in the side menu of the mobile application and follow the instructions provided to complete the account deletion procedure. Please note that not all Personal Data will be deleted upon deletion of Your account with us. We may retain certain Personal Data for Purposes mentioned in Table 1 above.
e) Account Deactivation – If You wish to temporarily deactivate Your account on the Platform, You may do so through the account settings available within the Platform or by following the instructions provided therein. Account deactivation will restrict Your access to the Platform and its Services; however, deactivation of Your account does not result in the deletion of Your Personal Data. Personal Data associated with a deactivated account may continue to be retained and processed for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Your account and access to the Services may be reactivated in accordance with the Platform’s procedures.
f) Your choice: You always have an option to choose the Personal Data You provide while using the Platform, including the option to update or delete Your Personal Data. However, please note that lack of certain Personal Data may not allow You access to the Platform or any of its features, in part or in full. For example: information required for Your registration on the Platform. Further, You will also have the option to choose what kind of communication You would like to receive from Us. However, there may be certain communications that are required for legal or security purposes, including changes to various legal agreements, that you may not be able to limit.
g) Reject Cookies and other similar technology plug-ins embedded on the Platforms: You may reject or remove cookies from Your web browser or other technologies embedded on Our Application; You will always have the option to change the default settings on Your web browser or via Application settings. However, please note that some of the Services or your use of our Platform may be impacted if you reject or disable such technological plug-ins.
Consequences of Not Providing Personal Data
We collect Personal Data only to the extent necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, provide our Services and fulfil our legal obligations (if any). However, if you choose not to provide certain information, some or all of the functionalities or Services on the Platform may be limited or unavailable to you.
Commitment to Privacy
The Platform is committed to safeguarding the privacy of all Users, whether registered or merely visiting the Platform. It is recommended that Users fully comprehend the types of Personal Data being collected. The Platform utilizes Personal Data only for the purpose of providing Services and to the extent necessary to fulfil the purposes expressly set out in this Privacy Policy, and ensures such Personal Data is not utilized for any other purposes except those specified in this Privacy Policy.
Security Measures
The security of Personal Data provided by Users is of paramount importance to the Platform. The Platform implements physical, technical and electronic security measures to protect the said Personal Data against unauthorized access alteration, disclosure, or destruction of Personal Data. User information including Personal Data is stored on secured servers, and payment information is entered on secure SSL-protected pages. While reasonable efforts are made to secure data transmissions, Users are advised to exercise caution when sharing Personal Data, particularly login credentials. AstroKarma shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or unauthorized access resulting from the User’s voluntary disclosure or sharing of Personal Data with any Third Party.
Disclosure of Personal Data with Third Parties
AstroKarma does not disclose, transfer, or share Your Personal Data with any third party except for provision of Services and for the purposes as described below or as required under Applicable Laws. Personal Data may be disclosed or shared only in the following circumstances:
- · Cloud storage: we use AWS Cloud Server to host Personal Data and enable our Services and operation of the Platforms.
- · Monitoring of Services: we use Google Firebase Crash Reporting to monitor infrastructure and performance of the Service, identify and resolve errors and crashes in our Service across different Platforms.
- · With Astrologers and Consultants (engaged via the Platform): Your Personal Data is shared with astrologers and Consultants, engaged on our Platform for provision of Services to you.
- · Service Providers and Partners: With trusted third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including but not limited to IT and infrastructure management, data hosting and backup, communication facilitation, analytics, customer support/call-centre/BPD, communication and SMS/OTP/IVR gateways, analytics/attribution, crash/error logging and performance monitoring, security and fraud prevention tools, marketing automation and WhatsApp business service providers, survey/feedback tools, content moderation providers and payment processing. Such entities are bound by contractual obligations to maintain the confidentiality and security of Personal Data and to use it solely for providing the requested Services.
- · Professional Advisors: With legal advisors, auditors, or consultants engaged by AstroKarma for professional or compliance-related purposes, subject to strict confidentiality obligations.
- · Business Transfers: In the event of any merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or similar business transaction involving AstroKarma, Personal Data may be transferred to relevant counterparties or their advisors as part of the transaction process, subject to appropriate confidentiality safeguards.
- · Legal and Regulatory Requirements: Where such disclosure is required or permitted by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; or where such disclosure is necessary to protect AstroKarma’s rights, property, or safety, or that of its users, employees, or the public.
- · Marketing and Advertising Partners: With Third-Party marketing or advertising partners for purposes of delivering promotional communications, personalized recommendations, or targeted advertisements, to the extent permitted by Applicable Laws and subject to User consent, where required.
- · Anonymized or Aggregated Data: AstroKarma may use and share anonymized or de-identified information for research, analytics, service improvement, or other business purposes, provided that such data does not identify any individual.
AstroKarma takes reasonable steps to ensure that all Third Parties with whom Personal Data is shared maintain appropriate security and confidentiality standards consistent with this Privacy Policy and Applicable Laws.
Retention of Personal Data
The Platform will retain the Personal Data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes expressly set out in this Privacy Policy and for the purposes of providing Services as set out in this Privacy Policy. The Platform will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with the legal obligations (for example, if required to retain Personal Data to comply with Applicable Laws), resolve disputes, and enforce legal agreements and policies. At the expiry of such periods, your Personal Data will be deleted or archived in compliance with Applicable Laws.
Children’s Privacy Policy
The Platform and its Services are not intended for use by individuals who are considered a “Child” under Applicable Law (“Child” or “Children”). We do not knowingly collect Personal Data of Children. If it becomes known that a Child has provided Personal Data, the Platform will take appropriate steps to delete such Children Personal Data from its systems. If you believe that a Child has provided Personal Data to the Platform, please contact us using the details provided in the “Customer Grievance” section below.
Third-Party Consultations and User Interactions
The Platform facilitates consultations and related services between Users and independent service providers (“Consultants”). The Consultants processes the Personal Data solely for the purpose of providing the consultation(s). The Consultants manages the Personal Data received along with other information during interaction with User. AstroKarma does not manages or controls the Consultant’s independent processing of Personal Data. Any information, communications, or Personal Data that you choose to share directly with a consultant, through your account or during such consultations, are at your sole discretion and risk. AstroKarma acts solely as an intermediary platform enabling such interactions between the Consultants and the Users and is and shall not be responsible or liable for any information you share with consultant.
Third Party Websites: The Platform may display advertisements or provide links to websites, applications, or services operated by Third Parties. AstroKarma does not share any Personal Data with such Third-Party websites or advertisers unless expressly stated on the Platform.
Links to Third-Party websites are provided for the User’s convenience and information. Such websites are not operated, controlled, or endorsed by the AstroKarma, and AstroKarma makes no representations or warranties regarding their accuracy, completeness, or reliability. AstroKarma does not assume any responsibility or liability for the content, privacy practices, practices or terms of use of any Third-Party websites.
The Platform is not responsible for any communication between Users and Third-Party Platforms. Any Personal Data or data provided directly by Users to such Third-Party websites shall be governed by the respective privacy policies of those Third Parties websites. Users are strongly advised to review the privacy policies and terms of use of each Third-Party website they engage with through the Platform, before sharing any Personal Data or engaging with such sites. The Platform will not be held liable for any issues arising from such Third-Party interactions.
Processing for Targeted Advertising and Sale of Personal Data
AstroKarma may process your Personal Data for purposes of targeted advertising to provide you with content, recommendations, and promotional communications that are more relevant to your interests.
AstroKarma does not engage in the sale or rental of any information provided by Users.
As per applicable laws, you have the right to opt out of:
- · the processing of your Personal Data for targeted advertising.

Your Rights
Users have certain rights in relation to their Personal Data in accordance with Applicable Laws, which include:
- a) to access your Personal Data held by us, our Processing activities, and the Third Parties with whom Personal Data has been shared, along with a description of such data (right to access);
- b) to review/update/rectify/correct/complete inaccurate Personal Data and ensure it is accurate, true, updated, and complete (right to rectification);
- c) to erase/delete your Personal Data (right to erasure; right to be forgotten);
- d) to raise a grievance in accordance with the "Customer Grievance" section below; and
- e) to make a complaint with the appropriate authority.
Depending on the jurisdiction in which you reside, you may be entitled to additional or specific rights regarding your Personal Data under the Applicable Laws. Please refer to the Country-Specific Addendum below for details of the rights available to you under your local laws.
You may exercise these rights by contacting us in accordance with the Customer Grievance section of this Privacy Policy. We try to respond to all legitimate requests at the earliest within the timelines as per Applicable Law and will contact you if we need additional information from you in order to honor your request. For your protection, we may require that the request be sent through the email address associated with your account, and we may need to verify your identity before implementing or considering implementing your request.
Verification Process for Exercising Rights
To protect your privacy, we verify privacy rights requests to ensure that only You (or your authorized representative) can exercise rights pertaining to your Personal Data. As part of our verification process, we may request you to submit additional information.
If you are an authorized representative wishing to exercise rights on behalf of a User, please contact us using the information at the top of this Privacy Policy and provide us with a copy of the User’s written authorization designating you as their representative. We may need to verify your identity and place of residence before completing your rights request.
Non-Discrimination
AstroKarma will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights as per Applicable Laws. Specifically, we will not: (a) Deny you goods or services; (b) Charge you different prices or rates for Services; or (c) Provide you a different level or quality of Services; or (d) Suggest that you will receive a different price or quality of Services as a result of exercising your rights.
Modification to Privacy Policy
We may modify, revise or change this Privacy Policy from time to time and change the “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy. We will take appropriate measures to notify you in advance of any significant changes that we believe affect your privacy rights, so that you have an opportunity to review the revised Privacy Policy before it is effective. If your consent is required by Applicable Laws, we will obtain your consent to changes before the revised Privacy Policy applies to you.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective as and when they are posted on this page. Unless stated otherwise, our Privacy Policy applies to all information that we have about you.
Indemnity
You agree and undertake to indemnify and hold harmless AstroKarma from third-party claims and liabilities arising from Personal Data you voluntarily disclose to independent third parties (including Consultants, external websites, apps, or services not acting on AstroKarma’s behalf) through or outside the Platform, and from your use and access of such third-party resources, to the extent permitted by applicable law. We assume no liability for any actions of such third parties with regard to Your Personal Data which You may have disclosed to such third parties.
